Don't Miss Our First Cinco de Mayo Celebration It has been an exciting Spring Reunion at the Des Moines Scottish Rite. The reunion honoring "The Committeemen" includes 13 new Scottish Rite Masons! A special One Day Class honoring Brother Buren R. Sherman (Former SGIG and Governor of Iowa) was held Friday April 27, 2012. At this special One Day Reunion we welcomed Brothers Thomas R. Sands and Jeffrey A. Kaufman, both legislators in the Iowa House of Representatives and Terry E. Branstad, Governor of the Great State of Iowa to the Des Moines Scottish Rite.  The Spring 2012 Reunion honoring "The Committeemen" and the Buren R. Sherman classes will conclude Saturday May, 5 2012 with a Cinco De Mayo Fiesta Banquet. Join us as we welcome our new Brothers to the Des Moines Scottish Rite. The Banquet will have a Cinco De Mayo theme with Margaritas, Cervezas and a selection of "South of the Border" appetizers. Entertainment will be provided by "Select Entertainment DJ". RSVP by calling 515.288.8927 2012 Spring Reunion Schedule   Memorial and Ascension Service The officers of the Des Moines Lodge of Perfection and the Des Moines York Rite bodies invite you to our joint York Rite/Scottish Rite Memorial & Ascension Service to be held May 9, 2012. We will have dinner in the Tapestry Lounge at 6:15 pm.  There is no charge for the dinner but a reservation made with the Scottish Rite office would be greatly appreciated (515-288-8927 or rsvp@dmscottishrite.org). The service of remembrance for our departed brothers from the York Rite and the Scottish Rite will be at 7:30 pm.  This event is open to Masons, their families and guests.
