Reunion Kickoff

This Wednesday, February 6th  is the Herb M. Smith, 33° Memorial Reunion Kick-off.  It will feature BBQ Ribs (2 different styles with lots of BBQ sauce choices) plus baked beans, coleslaw, and corn bread.  Cost is $10 for Scottish Rite Masons.  Prospects for Symbolic Lodge and Scottish Rite are free with a reservation.  Please call or email today to get your name on a plate of ribs.  515-288-8927 orrsvp@dmscottishrite.org 6:15 pm - Social Hour 7:00 pm - Dinner 8:00 pm - Introduction to Freemasonry and Scottish Rite Building tours will be available following the program for all interested parties.

Scottish Rite Annual Meeting

The annual meeting of the Des Moines Consistory will be held on Wednesday, February 13th at 7:30 pm in the Consistory Classroom.  It will be preceded by dinner at 6:30 pm for $8. Please make reservations for dinner by calling 515-288-8927 or emailrsvp@dmscottishrite.org prior to February 8, 2012.

Grand Master's One Day Class

This past Saturday we hosted the Grand Master's One Day Masonic Class.  Over 35 men became Master Masons, Congratulations!  It was a great day for Masonic unity and cooperation.  The South Central MI-DL Club did the 1st Degree, Scottish Rite the 2nd Degree, York Rite College the 1st section of the 3rd Degree, and the Za Ga Zig Shrine Past Masters Club doing the 2nd section of the 3rd degree.  Our Scottish Rite Kitchen Krew did the luncheon and our Sound and Light Committees assisted as well.  Special thanks from the Grand Master, Bryce B. Hildreth to all who helped out with the day.

Spring Reunion and Party

The 2013 Spring Reunion will be held on March 8/9 (4° to 18°) and March 22/23 (19° to 32°).  It will honor Illustrious Brother Herb M. Smith, 33°.  Herb was very active in the Fort Dodge Masonic bodies for many years and helped to coordinate our Maundy Thursday services for many years.  The theme for the Spring Reunion Party will be Hawaiian.  So break out the floral shirts, leis, and surfboards to ride the waves.  It will be held on March 23rd following the 32nd Degree with social hour beginning at 6:15 pm.
