Special Condensed Reunion

The Master of Kadosh and the Advisory conference have approved a special condensed reunion to be added to our existing Spring reunion.

This condensed reunion will take place on Friday, April 16, 2010 and Saturday, April 17th.

Friday evening will consist of the mandatory degrees (4^th, 14^th, 18^th). On Saturday these new members will join the existing class members and receive degrees (27, 28, 29, 30, 31, and 32). These candidates will be members of the Hertzberg class.

Should you know of a Brother who is interested in joining Scottish Rite please contact him as soon as possible. We will ballot on petitions on April 14^th but we would like to have the petitions in house as soon as possible. The fees remain the same. ($200 initiation fee + $100 dues = $300). Please note any candidate who completes the 32^nd degree prior to turning 31 can join for $250.

Please note this does not cancel or change the degree work scheduled for this Saturday, April 10^th in any regard.

After dinner, we will be introduced to the family of honoree Grover Hertzberg 33° and the members of his memorial class

The Bob Weast "swing'n" Big Band will begin at 8:00

If you haven't sent in your RSVP please do so by April 10th. Cost is $35 per person. While some of our members will be in tuxedo from the degree work, this is "Springtime in Paris" so feel free to dress accordingly.

Grover Robert Hertzberg 33°

Grover was born in Des Moines in 1928. He attended Roosevelt High School and attended Iowa State University where he earned a BS Degree and MS Degree in forestry in 1954.

After Iowa State he entered Officer Candidate School for the US Navy. In 1954 he was commissioned an Ensign in USNR. In 1957 he joined the family business, Library Binding Service, Inc. and retired as Vice President in 1982. In 1991 he was named Chairman of the Iowa
State University Foundation Board of Directors where he served for two years.

Masonically, Grover was raised in Waveland Park Lodge #654 on October 2, 1961. He became a
Master of the Royal Secret in 1962. He was honored with the rank of Knight Commander Court of Honor in 1979 and was coroneted a 33° Inspector General Honorary in 1999. He served the Des Moines Valley of Scottish Rite as Wise Master Chapter Rose Croix 1995-1997 and Master of Kadosh in 1998. He was also a member of the York Rite, High 12, Waveland Park Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and Za-Ga-Zig Shrine.

Grover passed to the Grand Lodge above on July 4, 2003.
