Roberts Burns Party
Burns party
 Tuesday January 25, 2011
The officers of the Des Moines Consistory cordially invite you to our first ever birthday party in honor of Scotland's favourite son, the Ploughman Poet, lyricist of Solway Firth, the Ayrshire Lad, Brother Robert Burns. This party is a chance to enjoy the sound of Scottish pipes and drums, the great stories and songs from the hand of the bard of Scotland, a pint of ale or a wee dram of scotch, and some great food and fellowship.

Robert BurnsRobert Burns, famous for his many poems and his authorship of Auld Lang Syne, was also a very active Mason, joining Lodge St. David Tarbolton in 1781.

We encourage you to invite your non-Masonic friends to join us as well. There will be a short program on Free Masonry as well as a tribute to Burns by Ron Lindhart, Pete Taggart, and Bob Speed.

Dinner will feature carved Baron of Beef, rosemary potatoes, vegetable, salad and dessert. The cost is just $12 per person. Your potential Scottish Rite petitioners and their lady are invited to join us at no charge, provided you make a reservation for them by January 21st. To make your reservations, please contact the Scottish Rite office by calling 515-288-8927 or via email
