There are also opportunities to assist with this degree in other ways.  Sound, lights, stage, and wardrobe will all be playing a role in making this happen.  Feel free to let us know if you would like to assist in that manner.     Thank you all and I look forward your participation.    W. Charles Smithson, Co-Director of the Work 25smithson@gmail.com  ___________________________________________________     Under Construction - 2014     As we introduced at the recent "Friends of the Des Moines Consistory" our major project for 2014 is the replacement of the fly roof.  This is the area over the extreme north end of the auditorium above the big fancy columns where the backdrops are located.  This project began yesterday and will continue throughout the month of May and possibly into June.  Please note, when parking in the lot behind our building you will need to park at the extreme north end.  This will allow the contractors full access to the roof at all times.  Please contact Shane Harshbarger 515-288-8927 should you have questions or concerns.     _________________________________________________ MARK YOUR   CALENDAR!  One Day Reunion June 28, 2014 Do you know of someone who would make a good candidate?

Maundy Thursday Service

This evening marked the annual Chapter Rose Croix Maundy Thursday services.

After a wonderful meal prepared by the Kitchen Krew, the crowd retired to the auditorium for the extinguishing of the lights, the 12 soliloquies of the apostles, and the relighting of the lights.

These ceremonies mark spring for the Scottish Rite, and to quote the Wise Master in the relighting of the lights, "…a season for a reawakening of consciousness, a renewing of our pledges, a reaffirming of our beliefs, a time for a mental inventory of our thoughts and actions, and a rededication of ourselves to those lofty principles taught by Jesus of Nazareth."

The crowd was great, although a little rowdy.

All in all, a great night.

"Peace be with you my friends, and be with you always.  Remember that it is better to love than to hate; that our duty is not to be better than others, but to be better than ourselves; and that the more we have, the more we owe to those who need assistance.  The peace of our Master be with you always."
