The Thirty-third Degree, Inspector General Honorary is conferred by the Supreme Council upon select members of the Scottish Rite in recognition for faithful services to Scottish Rite, Freemasonry or to mankind.
US Senator, Charles Grassley, 33° Grand Cross with Sovereign Grand Inspector General, Gary Sissel, 33°
Joining us for the festivities were 33° Scottish Rite Masons from the four other Valleys in Iowa as well as our Sovereign Grand Inspector General, Gary L. Sissel, and U.S. Senator Charles Grassley, 33° Grand Cross. Senator Grassley was the keynote speaker at the Coronation banquet.
Fall Reunion is two weeks away!
The Ellis E. Monk, 33° Memorial Class is quickly approaching. It will be held on October 28/29 & November 11/12. This full reunion will feature 25 of the Scottish Rite degrees in full form. This will be the first-time performance of the 24th degree, Prince of the Tabernacle. We encourage you to stop down and check out the degree work. Our ritualists have been working hard and it is always fun to play to a full room.
Following the reunion will be the 2011 Double Eagle Gala. This is our year-end celebration of Scottish Rite Masonry. It will honor three of our distinguished Scottish Rite Masons, Ellis Monk, Richard Noyce, and Ivan Johnson, and the members of the Summer one-day and Fall reunion classes.
The Grand Banquet room will be all decked out. This year, we will have both a band, The Soul Searchers, and DJ, Select Entertainment, to help make this night one to remember. Dinner is beef tenderloin deburgo with a special double chocolate cheesecake for dessert. Early bird registration saves you $10 per ticket if received by October 29th. Cost is $50 per ticket after October 30th. This event is open to all so feel free to invite your friends and family to join you at this great event. It is an excellent way to show how exciting it is to be a Scottish Rite Mason. If you haven't been to a Double Eagle Gala before, please join us. It will be one to remember. We will have balloting on petitions this Wednesday, October 19th for additional class members. A petition is available here if you need one.
