         Announcing the passing of
        Brother Lyle G. Seward, 32°

Lyle G. Seward, 86, passed away July 28, 2015 at Arbor Springs in West Des Moines. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2015 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Urbandale. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 6 at Iles Westover Chapel.
Lyle Glen Seward was born September 7, 1928, on the farm in New Providence, Iowa, to Wallace Seward and Verma (Whitehead) Seward. He attended both New Providence and Melbourne High Schools and graduated Melbourne High School in 1946. He moved to Des Moines and attended AIB. He met and married Keith Marie Whitford on August 21, 1949 in Ruthven, Iowa. He was a Korean War  Veteran. After business school, he was employed at Riekes Equipment, working his way up from clerk to sales and branch manager. He and his wife Keith bought the company in 1983 and changed the company name to Riekes of Iowa. They sold their business and retired in 1991.

Lyle loved his church (Aldersgate Methodist Church, Urbandale, Iowa), family, golf, cards and traveling. He was a charter member of the Urbandale Golf and Country Club, a member of the Za Ga Zig shrine and became a member of Scottish Rite in 1972.
