The 2017 Spring Reunion in honor of Illustrious Brother, Theodore H. Miller, 33° and Honored Brother, John D. Japhet, 32° KCCH will conclude this weekend. The first weekend was excellent and I am sure this weekend will be of equal fun and quality.
The class officers are:
President: Aaron Ritchie of Harding Lodge #649
Secretary: Greg Crocker of Osceola Lodge #77 Orator: Tony Scaglione of Daylight Lodge #660
We will kick things off with dinner tomorrow night in the WT &; Edna Dahl Grand Banquet room at 5:00 pm. It will be tailgate party style with Buffalo wings from Jethro's BBQ along with ham and cheese sliders, bacon wrapped tater tots, veggie tray, and chocolate chip cookies by the kitchen krew. Cost is $10 per person.
The 19th Degree, Grand Pontiff will begin promptly at 5:40 pm in the auditorium. This is a relatively new degree to our Valley, so if you haven't seen it, a full auditorium is always a good thing. After the 19th Degree is the 20th, imagine that! The 20th is the Master of the Symbolic Lodge at 6:45 pm, the Prussian Knights will make an appearance at 7:40 pm and last but not least will be the Knights of the Royal Axe at 8:55 pm. As many of you know, the 22nd degree features our Double Eagle Chorus and is a fan favorite.
Saturday morning kicks off early and with degrees of a very serious and symbolic nature, these are the Religious degrees of the Council of Kadosh. The 23rd, Chief of the Tabernacle begins at 7:30 am, followed by 24th at 8:05 am, 25th at 8:55 am, 26th at 9:35 am, 27th at 10:15 am. The members of the Knights of St. Andrew will finish off the morning with the 28th Degree, Knight Commander of the Temple. Lunch will be a "build your own burger buffet" at 12:00 pm. We will recognize our newest 50 year members and the class officers as part of the lunch program.
Then it will be back to the auditorium for the finality of the reunion. The 29th Knight of St. Andrew at 12:35 pm and Knight Kadosh at 1:25 pm. This will complete the Council of Kadosh degrees. The Consistory degrees (31st & 32nd) are completely different in both form and substance. The 31st degree takes us to Ancient Egypt for the Court of the Dead at 2:50 pm, while the 32nd Degree (4:00 pm) reveals the Royal Secret.
Our special guest for the weekend will be our Sovereign Grand Inspector General, Gary L. Sissel, 33°. Gary also serves as the Grand Secretary General of the Supreme Council.
Following the degree work will be our first ever Cajun Boil featuring shrimp, crawfish, andouille sausage, jambalaya, and dirty rice by Great Caterers of Iowa. The weather looks great so it will be held in the north parking lot. This is a casual affair so feel free to change following the 32nd degree and even bring a lawn chair. We have ten reservations remaining so if you haven't signed up and want to attend, call in today and grab of the last spots.
See you tomorrow night!
