Jack Curtis Frost, 92, passed away on September 8, 
2018  at Calvin Community Nursing Home in Des Moines. A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 13 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory in Urbandale.

Jack was born December 12, 1925 in Ottumwa, Iowa to James and Nellie Frost.  Jack served in the Army Air Corps during WWII as a Staff Sergeant and B-17 crew member.  Jack moved to Des Moines in 1956. He worked as an engineer for Union Pacific Railroad prior to working for NW Bell Telephone Company until he retired in 1986. 
Jack was a member of DeMolay in Ottumwa as a teenager and joined Empire Lodge #269 in July of 1948. Jack later affiliated with Daylight Lodge #660 in Des Moines, serving as Master in 1992.  He also served as Treasurer for many years.  He was a member of the High Twelve, Ottumwa York Rite and the Chanters Unit of the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine.  Jack served as a Trustee of Za Ga Zig and was a Past Chairman of the Shrine Circus.
He joined Des Moines Consistory in 1987.  He was active as a Ritualist, Sound Crew member, the Breakfast Club, Kitchen Krew and Double Eagle chorus.  He was honored with the rank and distinction of the Knight Commander of the Court of Honour in 1993.  Jack received the 33rd and last degree on November 10, 2007.
Jack is survived by his wife, Wilma; grandchildren, James (Marcy) Heggen and Brenda (Mike) Carter; two great-grandchildren, Jordan and Emily Carter; and son-in-law, Tim Cantrell. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Jane Cantrell; brother, Richard; and sister, Marjorie Deets.
