Meet Mark Clark, Master of Kadosh

Mark Clark was installed as Master of Kadosh of the Des Moines Consistory on December 10, 2008. Mark was born June 2, 1958. He attended the Des Moines schools and graduated from Des Moines East High School in 1976. He obtained a
Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from Drake University – 1980

Mark was Raised to the Degree of a Master Mason in Capital Lodge #110 in the summer of 1976. He holds dual member with Moingona Lodge #633

Mark served as Senior Deacon of Capital Lodge in Mid-1980’s. Because of family and other commitments got in the way he had to drop out of the line. He figured he would go back and finish up when things eased up. (still the plan)

Mark joined the Des Moines Scottish Rite in November of 1976. He joined the Council of Kadosh Line and served in the following offices; 2nd Lt. Commander, 1999-2004; 1st Lt. Commander 2005-2008. He became Master of Kadosh for 2009. Mark received his KCCH – 10-16-1989 and his 33° -- 10/03/2001

(Interesting note, I think Bill Clark and Mark Clark are the first “two brothers” to both become Master of Kadosh, and Bill as a past Master of Kadosh, installed Mark Clark this December.)

Mark was a member of the Jerry Marsengill York Rite Class and remains a member of the Rite.

Past President of East High Alumni Association and EHS Foundation. He is also active in College Fraternity Alumni Assn, Phi Delta Theta.

Marks plans for 2009 include continuing the great works and plans of his predecessors. He wants to enhance communication and information provided to members. He wants to find the interests and passions of members, and match them with opportunities within and without the Scottish Rite.

Mark says:

At the Scottish Rite, we attempt to blend together pieces of philosophy with ritual, demonstrated by plays and stories; fraternity and brotherhood through fellowship; and better relationships with food, drink, and social gatherings.

As no man is an island, we recognize that we will be better men, fathers, sons, brothers, and husbands, as we associate with others, living, learning, sharing and growing together.
