Scottish Rite Makeover (Consistory Rite Edition)

The Friends of the Des Moines Consistory have made it their mission and passion to ensure the renovation and preservation of one of the true architectural master pieces of Des Moines, our Consistory building.

Just like the television show, we will be tackling a number of rooms in a short period of time. Almost every major area of our Consistory will see some effect of this makeover.

As such, we would like to invite you to join with us as we reveal our 2009 renovation plans.

This edition of the Friends of Des Moines Consistory will include a cocktail and heavy hors d’oeuvres party, live piano music by Bob Day, and our 2009 renovation project launch.

In the past few years over 1 million dollars in renovations have been completed because of the support of members like you. These projects have changed our Temple from a wonderful yet declining facility into one of Central Iowa’s crown jewels and we thank you.

University of Free Masonry

Join us on August 26 as we read and study the 31st degree. This degree titled the Inspector Inquisitor. This degree teaches that we should give every man the benefit of innocence and purity of intentions. He who would judge others must first judge himself. The mistakes of today should not be committed tomorrow. The duty is to judge yourself in the same light as you judge others, considering both actions and motives. The degree reading will begin at 7:00 pm and will take place in the library. All Scottish Rite Masons are invited.

Double Eagle Gala

The Master of Kadosh is pleased to announce that we have secured High Society Big Band to perform at the Double Eagle Gala on October 31, 2009. Now is the time to mark your calendar to attend the signature event of our Consistory year.
