SR Express

Meet & Greet This Wednesday

The Knights of St. Andrew will be hosting a meet and greet this Wednesday, November 10th from 4:30 pm to 7 pm. This is a chance to stop in after work or before your other evening events and enjoy the good cheer of Scottish Rite. There will be snacks and beverages to enjoy but most of all after the whirlwind of the two reunion weekends, there will be a chance for Scottish Rite Masons and their guests to get together and be able to have some time to talk, visit, relax and tell a joke or two.

Double Eagle Gala 2010

Amazing! What a weekend! The Degree work was outstanding! This room looks sensational! Congratulations! Best Masonic meal ever! Wow! What a great band! When is the next Gala? Were just a few comments heard on Saturday night at the Double Eagle Gala. Over 300 Scottish Rite Masons and their ladies were with us for our grand celebration of Scottish Rite Masonry in honor of Glen Lamb, 32° K.C.C.H and Eugene L. Smith 32° K.C.C.H.

From excellent degree work by our ritualists, great support from our sound, light, and stage crews, wonderful food by our "Kitchen Krew", amazing music by our choir and organist, excellent hospitality from our marshals, tylers, and dining room committee made for an immensely successful weekend. It is amazing to watch all of the pieces of the puzzle come together in support of the lessons and ideals of Scottish Rite Masonry. A thank you and job well done to everyone who participated and made this exciting weekend a success.

In addition to the festivities, there were a couple of touching moments. Merle Lamb, one of our honorees' ladies, shared with us a story she had written about a Shrine Christmas party that she attended with her husband, Glen. It was a great testament to Masonry, Shrine, and the character of our fraternity. Nathanial Hedin Schmidt, was the Class Orator and he told us of the journey the Lamb-Smith class had just taken. His words reminded us of just how powerful the lessons of Scottish Rite can be.

Special thanks to Tony Batcheller, who took pictures of our reunion both on stage and behind the scenes and to new class member Michael Miller, who wrote and shared his reunion experiences with us online.
