 Announcing the passing of 
 Brother Hollis E. Scott, 32°KCCH
  


Hollis Eugene Scott, 90, passed from this life on Monday, September 28, 2015.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Ankeny Funeral Home (1510 W. First St., Ankeny, IA 50023). Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2015 at the Elkhart Christian Church (124 S Washington Ave, Elkhart, IA 50073) with burial to follow in the Elkhart Cemetery.

Hollis Scott was born to Clayton and Grace (Higgins) Scott in Elkhart, IA on June 12,1925. He graduated from Elkhart High School in 1942, and enlisted in the Army,
serving his country in the European Theater. Following Hollis's time in the military, he was united in marriage to Wilma (Spooner) Scott on July 7, 1946. The couple made their home in Elkhart and was blessed with three children.

Hollis was 
active in the VFW, and the American Legion. He was a lifelong member of the Elkhart Christian Church. Hollis was a 50 year member of Logic Lodge in Ankeny , joining in 1953. He joined the Des Moines Consistory in 1967 and was active on the dining Room Committee and "Kitchen Krew".  He received the Knight Commander Court of Honour in 1971.  His hobbies included gardening, and wood working, his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends around the "table of knowledge." He will be remembered by those who knew him for his love of a party.

He was preceded in death by his son; Steven Clayton Scott (Vietnam War Casualty), grandson; Scott Ahlman, parents; Clayton and Grace Scott, brother; Edward Scott, and sister; Tootie Scott.

He is survived by his wife; Wilma (Spooner) Scott, daughter; Chris Scott of Ankeny, IA, Son; Tom Scott of Lakeville, MN, grandchildren; Jodi Hyde(Nick) of Ankeny, Steven Scott of St Paul, MN, Brian Scott (Amber)of Dallas, TX, great-grandchildren; Ellexis
Hyde and Tilly Scott.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Elkhart Christian Church, or Kavanagh House.
